2012 Missions Trip

**Scroll down to see a different photo album and summary for each day of the trip.
Day 1
To summarize the day, they started at Cambridge Primary School. Half our group, Team 1, ran a practice quiz and coached the quizzers in preparation for Friday's tournament. The other half was able to get into the classrooms and share the Gospel as well as a little about themselves and America. During a recess between sessions they were able to get the students in large groups and the team evangelized to them.
They were there for about an hour and a half. They then headed back to the villa for lunch before leaving right after to go to Howard Cook school.
Once there, the other half of our group, Team 2, set up the quiz site for the team from Howard Cook. They were also joined by a quiz team from Catherine Hall school which will be in the tournament Friday as well. During the quizzing, the rest of the team hung out and evangelized with some students who were free to hang out.
They ended the day after that visit and went back to the villa for swimming and a delicious dinner of jerk chicken!
Cambridge had the white/blue female uniforms. Howard Cook had the blue/red checkered uniforms and Catherine Hall had the blue/blue checkered uniforms.
Day 2
They started the morning with a great pancake and bacon breakfast. After breakfast they drove into the mountains to Goodwill School to drop off Team 1 to practice with the students there. Team 2 continued up the mountain to Adelphi School where they practiced with the students in a church outside of school. Rick even joined in the quiz to motivate the students! Alex and jeff were able to help in a classroom during that time.
They spent their afternoon driving to 3 schools for Rick to meet with teachers and principles, they will be returning to two of those schools tomorrow for practice.
They also went to the craft market and grocery store for some shopping before returning to the villa for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3
They started the morning splitting up the two teams. Team 1 went to Supreme Prep (not pictured) while Team 2 went to John Rollins School. While at John Rollins, the team was able to run a practice and evangelize with the students. The whole team got involved with the Gospel presentations and they were able to teach some of the students practical ways to share the Gospel to their friends and family.
After lunch, the whole group went to Teamwork Christian School. They are new to Bible quizzing and will be joining us Friday for the tournament! Team 2 ran the quizzing while members of Team 1 helped individual students study. Some of the teams also got involved evangelizing and teaching the students how to share the Gospel through rope tricks.
They then had some free time at the beach where they swam and played for about 2 hours followed by dinner on the bay at the Twisted Kilt
Day 4
After a delicious porridge breakfast, the whole team went to Barracks Road School where they were welcomed by a large group of quizzers. Team 1 ran the quiz practice and helped the students study while Team 2 was able to get into some classrooms and share. During recess, members of both of our teams were able to evangelize and utilize the rope tricks they had learned. As they left, the school treated them to juice and meat and cheese patties!
After lunch, the entire team loaded into the van to visit the last school of the trip, Albion Prep. Team 2 ran the quizzing while Team 1 hung out in the courtyard and in classrooms sharing and evangelizing with the students. They had a great practice and are excited to see Albion defend their title tomorrow!
They're all resting up in excitement for the tournament tomorrow.
Day 5
Today was tournament day! All week we were working with the students to prepare for today. It was such a blessing to see the students again today and especially to see them compete against each other!
Our team ran the quizzes as quiz masters and scorekeepers/timekeepers.
Rick quiz mastered the final 4 quizzes.
Everyone had a great time and our team is ready to come home after an exhausting and challenging week!
