For the last three years, every fall we have looked forward to the beginning of Bible quizzing season! Not only does quizzing create a �buzz in the air� as our children study their verses feverishly in order to prepare for quizzing events, but it also builds a climate of holiness around our home as the word of God is studied, read and rehearsed in every corner of the house. The start of a new quizzing season means our children will learn new material and will forget some of the verses they have studied from previous years, but we truly believe that the quizzing process is a wonderful tool in catechizing and indoctrinating them with the truths of God�s Word. We derive great joy from knowing that the words of Scripture are being planted deep in the hearts of our children and that they will be able to call upon these words for the rest of their lives.

What a privilege it has been to be a part of the Bible Quizzing community, and to see our kids grow spiritually, emotionally, academically and socially.  Thank you Youth Challenge for your commitment to raising up a new generation of Christian leaders who are well-versed in God's Word!

Going to Jamaica was an amazing experience that is going to have a huge impact on the rest of my life. Among other things, I got to go into public schools in Jamaica and help teachers...and talk about Jesus! For example, I corrected schoolwork, helped kids that were struggling with their assignments, and then just before the end of class, I was able to talk to the kids about Jesus and the gospel. I used rope "tricks" and other illustrations. They were kinda hard to learn, but once I had it down it was neat to watch the kids zoom in on what I was doing...and listen to what I was saying!
We also got to help with Bible quizzing in the schools, and held a "National Tournament" on the last full day. I got to quiz master and it was a blast watching kids get a question right!
I was shocked and amazed at how poor the kids are...and the country. I appreciate more now what I have here. I'd love to go back to Jamaica, and I really loved working with the kids (and I do that at our church).

Thanks so much to all of you who prayed and gave to make our trip to Jamaica possible! When I was a teen I served with Teen Missions twice, and I looked forward to perhaps leading a team and taking one of my children with me. A few weeks ago God granted the desire of my heart and Janelle and I went to help with Bible quizzing and other work. It was an amazing experience. It was a joy for me to be able to love on the Jamaican kids and share the gospel with them. But, yes, the best part was watching Janelle serve the Lord with gladness!
Thanks again to all of you who faithfully pray, sacrificially give, and encourage us as we...as a family and as individuals...try to serve the Lord.
